February Ipsy Bag and It's my Birthday!

Now I don't know about y'all but I'm feelin' 22! Now it actually will make sense when I sing the song; best year ever! I have had that song permanently drilled into my head these past few days.

22nd birthday

Amen girl, AMEN!

Leaving for the beach tomorrow with my love is just what I need right now!

Anyway I'll shut up about my birthday, I got my Ipsy bag just in time for my special day, and it was beautiful like a perfect birthday/Valentines gift that I sent myself.

This months bag is of course PINK! You can't send an Ipsy bag and it not be pink the month of February, it just wouldn't be normal.

So...here's what I got!

"The Look Of Love" Ipsy Bag:

Pop Beauty Plump Pout Mini "Peony Petal" This is such a pretty color lip-gloss! Peonies are by far my favorite flower ever, so when I saw the name I was stoked. The lip-gloss is not sticky at all, unlike many other lip products, and it's a very pretty pink color.

Zoya Nail Polish "Odette" Oh my gosh guys, I love when we get really good polishes in our bags and this made this whole bag for me! I am in love with this color and with Zoya.

City Color "Be Matte Blush" Blush is not something that I get too excited about, nor anything matte, I have pretty dry skin. I'm sure this color will be very pretty in spring though.

Eyetini Cordial Cream Shadow I received the brown shadow, and I will say it is VERY pigmented, I am a little intimidated to put this on my eyes, but it is very pretty!

NuMe Intense Renewal Hair Mask - I am always excited to get anything to help moisturize my hair, so I cant wait to try this out!

I was overall very pleased with my bag this month!

Valentines Day

Valentines day is almost here, which also means my birthday is too! February is by far my most favorite month ever. I know that a lot of people look at Valentines day as a superficial holiday, where you're expected to buy the one you love flowers, chocolate, a date night, a heart felt card; the list could go on and on. I just cant deny a day dedicated to love and pink. I show Joe every day that I love him and same goes for me, but its so nice to go out on a date and get gifts, just because someone loves you.

I was actually brought home from the hospital two days after I was born on Valentines day, and my mom says I was her Valentine. You don't have to be in a relationship to have a Valentine, take out or treat your brother, sister, other single friend, or parents and just share the love. Share the love with your dog, I'm sure they could use another treat, or bone; and hey, they love you unconditionally every day of the year.

I love baking, it's like grandma status on my nights off. I love to bake, watch Netflix, and be in bed before 10PM. Making food or baked goods for someone is the best way (in my book) to show them some love. You are actually taking the time out to make them something delicious and not eat it yourself. Pinterest is full of easy, cheap, and fun things to do for someone you love!

The point is, just show someone you love them this Valentines day. Make it a point to uplift someone who may down and just love them.

Here are some ideas for Valentines day stolen from pinterest of course:

Week One of Online Blogger Bible Study.

This past week Brittany and a group of ladies, including myself started an online bible study. We are reading "The Modern Girls Guide To Bible Study" It is written by Jen Hatmaker who is hilarious and truthful, it makes this book so easy and fun to read!

online bible study "a modern girls guide to bible study"

I wanted to be involved in this study for so many reasons. One being that I work weekends and I work, and go to school during the week. I do not have a local church that I attend, I did in Las Vegas and loved it. We haven't found one that fits us, and it makes it hard to attend when you work all day on Sunday. I need this study to stay committed, to learn, and to grow. I love the fact that I am finding so many other bloggers in the midst of it also!

I was lucky to get partnered up with a really great girl named Katie, we are both pretty busy girls but we exchange emails and try and encourage one another. She is so sweet, and I am so happy to be paired with her.

It wasn't until around the third day; chapter 3 that I started getting the most out of the book. I hadn't been journaling or participating in the study guide. After I started journaling along with the readings I felt so much more fulfilled. It completely clicked for me when Jen made a reference about taking a phone message and actually writing down the message, as apposed to saying "go ahead, I'll just remember." When we write things down we are actually engaged and thinking. She even has a section on what questions to ask yourself and journal about which is really helpful for me.

I am excited for this next week, being more dedicated and engaged!

Link up on Brittany's blog if you are involved in the study as well.

Comfort Zone

Everyone has a bubble, a place where they feel safe and comfortable. Not too often is it ever comfortable to step outside of that bubble and do something that is scary and new, but could possibly, maybe have a good outcome. Possibly, maybe is not my style. I like security. I think those people are brave. The ones that will take chances when it comes, or take a new scary job even though they have a secure, cushy job. I am not like that. I like to stay inside my bubble with my security blanket of my family, fiancé, and dogs. I don't like the thought of being turned down or failing at something that I took a risk for.

School is not a comfort zone for me, it's a lot of work mixed with an almost full time job. I get anxious, stressed, and very vulnerable. On the other hand I know that this will be an amazing outcome when I look back a few years from now, hopefully teaching and thinking of how happy I am that I took this risk and put myself out there.

When I had my set schedule I knew I needed to ask for a raise to help with our income because I am losing a day of work to dedicate to classes. I have never, in the time I have had jobs asked for a raise or anything from my bosses. I have been at my current job for well over six months, and I have taken on a ton of new responsibility so I knew I deserved it, but I was very scared. I knew that for Joe and I that I needed to do this for peace of mind while I attend school so we didn't have to stress. I asked and guess what, my boss agreed and gave it to me no hassle or anything. Talk about relief. I had worked myself up into almost a panic attack, almost not even going to ask. I put myself out there, and got what I needed.

Sometimes we have to realize how much more we can do with our lives, and not sit around for someone to hand it to us. We honestly may never be satisfied if we don't take it into our own hands.
I may get turned down and I may fail, but how will I know if I never try? Having faith and knowing that things will happen in their own time is peaceful. I have to remind myself of this everyday.
