Defining Moments | Beauty Box Five July

Defining Moments by Beauty Box Five is this months theme. They are celebrating moments in life that are special to each person this month and are giving us the products to help us look and feel great as well.

July Beauty Box 5 review

Revlon Bold Laquer Mascara | I am a junkie when it comes to mascaras and I have been eyeing this one for quite some time, so I was very happy to see this in my box this month. It provides major volume so my lashes look really thick and long. I have had no problem with flaking whatsoever.

Starlooks Lip Liner | I honestly don't use lip liner really at all. This is a brownish color and it glided on my hand great. I might even use as a soft eyeliner.

HASK Argon Oil Hair Treatment | Hair masks for me are a must. I literally use one every single week because between the highlights, the heat, and all the products I use on my hair - it needs it. I have really thick, dry hair anyway so deep conditioning treatments are a life savor. I am trying this out this week.

Body Drench Candy Licious Lips | A new favorite, for sure. I just got this box a couple days ago and I already love this lip balm. The one I received is lemon flavor and it makes my lips so soft and silky, not to mention they smell great.

Anna Naturals Body Scrub | This is a vegan scrub that can be used on the face and body to help exfoliate. It is gentle and doesn't contain any parabens or harsh chemicals which is great in my book. I will use this before I do self tanner!

You can get your very own box delivered each month for $12.00 at beautybox5.com

Wedding Planning #1

Hi friends!

I decided since becoming engaged that I wanted to share my wedding planning process, ideas, or whatever crazy things are going on until our wedding date. I am obviously new to planning a wedding, so feel free to share tips and advice! I have been obsessed with reading other wedding planning blogs and posts too!

Today for my first post on this subject I wanted to share my to-do list! I am a bit obsessed with lists and checking things off of them. I have one in my DIY wedding planning binder (this will be my next post in this series)

This is just my overall major to-do-list as of now, I'm sure I'll find more things I need to do in the months to come.

We just put down our deposit and secured our date for our wedding ceremony and reception! That was our major step, and now that it is finally done I cannot wait to start planning!
  • Set the date
  • Book our wedding and reception venue
  • Make wedding page or website
  • Book photographer
  • Take engagement pictures (next month in June we will)
  • Order and send out Save the Dates
  • Register Bed Bath and Beyond, Target, Kohls
  • Try on and buy wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses
  • Groom and groomsmen tuxes/shoes
  • Cake tasting and booking
  • Choose linens and decorations with venue
  • Get my rings resized
  • Finalize guest list
  • Rent arch for ceremony
  • Book DJ or PA System
  • Book our ceremony officiant
  • Buy wedding shoes and jewelry
  • Book makeup artist & hair stylist (In the process)
  • Hair and makeup trial
  • Purchase wedding band for Joe
  • Mail invitations
  • Meeting with caterer to pick out menu
  • Ceremony and reception music selections
  • Buy bridesmaids and groomsmen gifts
  • Candy bar and decoration shopping.
  • Make décor (pinterest) for wedding and reception
  • Book Hotel Room
  • Marriage license
  • Order and send out thank you cards (After)

I will be crossing these off as I go and be updating everyone on our progress! If you are engaged and blog, or are on pinterest let me know in the comments!

January Ipsy Bag

My January Ipsy bag was 50/50 this month for me, I love my little bag that comes in every month and I love sharing all of the things I receive. Some months I will love every single item I get in my bag and some months (like this month) I just don't really care for some of the products.

January Ipsy Bag

But hey! that's okay because it's only $10.00 bucks a month and you really can't beat it.

In my bag this month I received:

Benefit - Porefessional: This is the one item I saw in my glam room and knew I was so excited to get! I love anything and everything from Benefit!

(MALIN + GOETZ) mojito lip balm: I had never heard of this brand, but after trying out this lip balm I am so happy that I received this product because it is doing wonders for my chapped lips.

Yaby liquid foundation - Buff: I was really excited to get a foundation in my bag but unfortunately I am pretty light skinned and this product only came in one shade to all Ipsy subscribers; Buff. I may be able to use this in the summer though mixed with my BB creams. I do really like the consistency of the product.

The next few products are things that I will most likely give away.

Balm me up organic sweet cocoa & tangy body balm: This has a VERY strong scent and I want to try it out I just am really not sure about the scent. Someone else may really like it though! I have read good reviews about the product and how nice it is, it's just not my favorite smell.

Absolute Make up cleansing tissues - pomegranate extract: I am very picky when it comes to products that I put on my face, because I have pretty sensitive skin. These have a smell I cannot even explain, and not in a good way. I could not imagine putting these on my face and eyes.

I love Ipsy and will always stay faithful to my favorite subscription service. I love that I can review the products that I love and don't love so much so they know what I like/dislike.

Try out Ipsy for $10.00 a month plus always free shipping!

December Ipsy Bag

4 more sleeps until Christmas!!! Who can hardly wait?? I know I'm excited!

Today I am blogging about my December Ipsy bag, I love getting my bag monthly because its like an extra present with surprises inside.

This months bag theme was Celebration, which is very fitting for all of the celebrating we all do this month! The bag is a very cute clutch like makeup bag which is very sleek.

In my bag I received:

POP Beauty -Bright Up Your Life Eye Shadow Trio ~ I really like the colors in this trio, they are pretty buildable also.

Be a Bombshell -The One Stick ~ Not too excited about this product, I received a very bright red color which does not compliment my skin tone at all. Not something I will really use.

Nicka K New York -Nail Color ~ I had never heard of this brand of nail polish before, but I really like it! I love the color and the consistency of the product.

Ardell - Natural Lash ~ I honestly don't wear false lashes very often but I will put these to great use on New Years Eve. I actually cant wait to try them out. I have only heard great things about Ardell lashes.

J.Cat Beauty -Big Lip Pencil ~ Once again this is in the shade bright red and not something I would wear, I have reviewed several products that were bright red saying that I really don't like the color so I'm not quite sure why I keep getting those colors.

Overall I like this bag this month, it isn't one of my favorites but there are a few items that I am excited about and really do like.

If you want to try out Ipsy it is $10.00 a month and you can go here to sign up! (they make great last minute gifts to friends)

Let me know what you received in your bag this month!

XO, Vivian
