Five Beauty Things I Suck At

I hope you all are enjoying the short work week! I am here today to share five beauty things that I suck at. I have seen this tag on YouTube quite some time ago and after thinking about it myself, it was not hard to come up with five things. I love beauty products and doing my makeup...but there are just some things that I will never enjoy doing or even be good at doing.

1. Applying false lashes| False lashes are not my forte...I absolutely love the look of them on others but maybe my eyes are too sensitive or something because I am never comfortable in them. Yes, I have watched every "how to apply false lashes" on YouTube and I still have troubles. If they aren't applied right there is no point in wearing them because they can look so bad.

2. Winged eyeliner| I typically do a very thin line of eyeliner because I don't like anything too dramatic, but when I wan't to go out I would love to rock a winged eye. When I start, the line is too thin and with each swipe I make it thicker and thicker until I freak out and have to re-do my entire eye look. I never am satisfied because they never match.

3. Plucking my eyebrows| This is probably my least favorite thing ever. I'm not good at it whatsoever, and it hurts. I usually just hit up a Benefit Brow Bar twice a year and then maintain them when needed, but I really suck at it.

4. Reapplying lip product| Why is it that I can apply lip product and look so put together, but after coffee or eating the product disappears, I can never remember to apply. I always forget to bring said lip product in my bag, and then I just gravitate to chapstick especially in the winter.

5. Using Primer| I don't know if I just feel it is unnecessary for my skin/eyes or what but I ALWAYS forget primer. I buy it, intend on using it, and never do. I have good intentions but it just rarely happens. Adding a new step into my beauty routine always takes me some time to remember to actually do it.

What are some beauty things you suck at doing or just don't like doing in general?

Beauty Bash and a Giveaway

I don't know about you ladies, but I love makeup. I could probably spend hours in a Sephora or Ulta, just looking at all the new products. When my eye makeup looks good, I really do feel good. Just like it's possible to have a bad hair day, you can definitely have a bad eyelash day. I love using Benefit's They're Real Mascara because it really is the best high end mascara I have ever tried, and no I'm not getting paid or asked to say that. I really just love it that much.

Today, I am super excited because I was chosen by Benefit and Birchbox to throw a Beauty Bash for myself and some friends. I was actually chosen last year as well which you can read all about here. Since I am so busy with a bigger party to plan this year (hint: the wedding) I couldn't have as big of a party as I would have liked. My Beauty Bash will consist of hanging out with my mom and sisters while we eat cupcakes, and finish last minute wedding planning. Good news is that I have some products to give away!

Included in this giveaway is: All mini's of "They're Real" mascara, Benetint, Lollitint, Porefessional,  and the new "They're Real" push up liner.

All you have to do is enter the Rafflecopter below to gain entries! Open to US only. Giveaway will run until Sunday! Good luck!!

** I was chosen by Benefit and Birchbox to receive these products as gifts, I am not being paid nor did they ask me to write a post. All opinions are my own. **

*Studio Gear Cosmetics Holiday Smokey Eye Palette*

Hi everyone~

Today I have a really fun post because I was asked to review a holiday palette from studio gear cosmetics. The holiday smokey eye palette has been really fun to try out. I love that everything is so compact, and easy to use. In the fall and winter time it's perfect to branch out and try more dramatic eye looks.

The colors in the palette are shimmery, which I know a lot of people prefer to use matte eye shadows for more intense eye looks. If you like the more shimmery colors then this would be great for you! The palette also comes with a highlighter and a blush which is a really pretty light pink color. The colors aren't super pigmented, however they do build up very well. I personally love the frost color for the inner corner of my eyes.

This could make a really great holiday gift for a friend or family member as well! I love that on the palette lid it has instructions to create the eye look, this is perfect for beginners.

Studio Gear is giving all of you a discount code, which is located below! The palette is regularly $40 and is currently on sale for $25. Plus the 10% off code!

http://studiogearcosmetics.com/shop/eye-make-up/holiday-smokey-eye-palette/

Reader Discount: 10% Off
Reader Discount Code: SGHOLIDAY

**FTC I was given the holiday smokey eye palette to review, all opinions are my own. This is a sponsored post for an honest review of the product mentioned, I am not gaining compensation from sales of this product.

October Ipsy Bag!

Hi everyone!

So I just recently received my October Ipsy bag and I wanted to share all of the products from my bag. This is a monthly subscription service that is only 10.00 a month including shipping!

This months "theme" was the art of beauty.

1. Full size Zoya nail polish in Giovanna, I was so beyond excited to get this in my bag this month! You could receive one of three beautiful jewel tones and I would have been happy with any of the colors! Such a great formula and beautiful pay off!

2. Buxom Full On Lip Polish "Dolly" - This was another one I was so happy to get in my bag! It is a beautiful color for fall and the perfect size to throw in your bag!

3. La Fresh Oil Free Face Cleanser Wipes set of ten - I had never tried anything from La Fresh before and I am always going through makeup wipes like crazy. The only thing is you for sure cannot rely on these to take off your makeup or to really clean your face. I feel like these would be perfect for the morning when your face is already cleaned and you just need to re-fresh.

4. Nourish Organic Coconut and Argan Body Lotion - Before receiving my Ipsy bag I had never heard of this brand before, but after trying the lotion I really do love it! It's USDA Organic and also sold at target! It kind of gives your hands a tingling feeling when you put it on and works so great!

5. Sexy Hair Blow Dry Volumizing Gel - This product was probably the one I was not excited for at all, I have super thick hair and I really don't need any more volume in my hair! I really do enjoy Sexy Hair products though I just don't think I will get much use out of this one.

I think that overall this was one of my favorite months so far with Ipsy! I was so surprised by the Buxom lipgloss and the Zoya nail polish! I really recommend trying this subscription service out!

Current Fall Favorites!

 fall

Hey everyone!!

I thought I would share with y'all my current fall favorites that I have been obsessed with!

My first is the Benefit Gimmie Brow Gel! I received this product in my hostess lash bash kit and I absolutely love it! It gives my brows a natural color and fills the parts that need it without looking fake or crusty (I know that sounds so weird!)

Second is the Soap and Glory Hand Food, and let me just say...oh my gosh I love this stuff!! I had been looking for a hand cream for the fall and winter time because my hands start cracking and get so dry in the colder months. This product is the best!

Bath and Body works candles in general are a must have and a favorite, but the autumn candle has been my absolute favorite lately!!

Next is probably the item that is the most exciting for me, and that is....my new pink iPhone 5C! I desperately needed a new phone after mine was shattered. It was right before the new iPhones came out and I couldn't pass it up! I love it and it's pink!!!

PSL's from starbucks are kind of an addiction, but they are seriously so expensive to get one everyday so when I found this creamer I was really a little too excited! I honestly think this is as good if not better, and it's so inexpensive!

My favorite perfume for the fall and winter months is Taylor Swift Wonderstruck, it is the perfect sent for this time of year!

And lastly is throw blankets, I love being cozy and throw blankets are the best. I keep them everywhere, and I have found really cute ones at TJ Maxx and Target!

Those are some of my favorites, I hope you all enjoyed this post!!!

I hope you all enjoy all of the pictures, I am still doing a giveaway I will mention again below! So please enter in that and I will pick a winner on October 5th!

What were my summer must haves?

Hi Everyone!!!

Since summer is coming to an end, I thought I would share what my summer must haves were this year!

Starting from left to right-

My bronzer from NYC - I love this powder bronzer, it is super inexpensive and gives me an over all glow which I really need to not look like a ghost!

Jergens Natural Glow - I have so many self tanning products its ridiculous, but I just can't help it. I am a pale white girl who only gets red and burnt in the sun, so I need something to help me achieve a somewhat bronze glow. This product is great, It has +firming and it can be used daily for a gradual glow! The smell isn't bad at all either compared to some others I have tried.

Maybelline Color Tattoo in "Barley Branded" - I love love love this cream shadow!! I use it as either a base for my other shadows which works as an amazing primer, because it stays on for 24 hours; or I will sometimes just use it on it's own! It is from the metal line and it is so pretty and bright!!

Victoria's Secret: PINK body splash - I like using body sprays in the summer for a light but fresh smell and this is very girly and sweet!

Sexy Hair Weather Proof Spray - I recieved this product in my July glam bag and I have used it everyday since! I have really thick hair that gets frizzy with any humidity so I spray this on my finished styled hair to keep it protected!

NYX Butter Gloss in "Eclair" - I love the butter glosses and this has been my absolute favorite!

Benefit Watts Up - When used on the bridge of your nose, around the arch of your eyebrows and the tops of your checks this product gives you amazing highlight! I use this everyday!

Covergirl Lashperfection Mascara - I cannot say how many times I have repurchaced this product, I think it will always be my favorite mascara!

Revlon Photo Ready BB Cream - This so far is my favorite BB cream that I have tried, It doesn't give my an oily face that some other BB creams can give off it really gives great coverage and helps my face stay matte all day along with all of the benefits of a BB cream.

Clean and Clear Morning Burst Gel - I received this product as a sample size and I am in love with it! I never thought of using a gel moisturizer but I like it so much better than a lotion, and it smells like cucumber melon!!

Covergirl Trio in "shimmering sands" - This trio is really popular in the beauty community and it truly does live up to the hype, it is an inexpensive drugstore product that has beautiful colors!

Sunglasses - My aviators from target for around 16.00 have been my favorite pair of sunglasses all summer!

Real Techniques - These two brushes are my favorite! I found them at Ulta for around 8-9 bucks each! They are so soft and really help your makeup go on without streaks!

Those are my summer beauty must haves!!

Would You Rather?

Hi Everyone!! I saw this tag on a few other beauty blogs and thought it would be really fun to do!!

Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?

Even though I cannot go a day without mascara I would have to say I would rather lose all of my mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses! I would just have to go out and buy more! ;)

Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

This one is tough for me because I could not imagine not having hair...however, I have super thick hair and I really think my hair would be soo damaged without a hair cut. I will go with chop off all of my hair...luckily my hair grows really fast!

Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

I know this is going to sound crazy, but I really do not wear much blush! I am all about the bronzer and I have naturally rosy cheeks so I really don't like to add to them. If I had to choose though I would go with a pink cheek!

If you had $1000 to spend, Would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
New Clothes, hands down.

Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?

Oh boy..... I cannot imagine either being really flattering. I guess I would choose using the eyeliner as a lipstick, they have pink eyeliners anyway!

Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
Definitely Sephora! They have everything, MAC can get super expensive.

Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?

I would say one lip color, I love doing my eye makeup and I really don't mind sticking with a favorite lip color!

Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
I really had to think about this question! It gets as high as 106+ degrees here in summer and I could not imagine wearing winter clothes! I could survive with summer clothes in winter since I still wear cardigans and scarfs in the summer (I work in an air conditioned building).

Would you rather dark nails or bright nails all year round?

I love my bright nails and paint them at least two times a week, bright nails for sure!

Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?

Give up my favorite lip product! I can't live without my Covergirl mascaras!

Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a pony tail or a messy bun?

I would say a pony tail, I feel like I could really make a pony tail look cute and sleek.

Would your rather never being able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?

Never use lipgloss! I would not give up my nail polish collection.

Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all? or sharpie them in everyday?

Oddly enough I have seen many girls with both "eyebrow looks" and it is not cute. I suppose I would have to sharpie them in haha!

Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?

This question is so tough, I love painting my nails but I guess I would have to live without it because I like wearing makeup even more.

I tag everyone to do this and let me know when you do so I can check out your answers!!!

BH Malibu Palette!

In my July Glam Bag from Ipsy.com I received a trio pallet of shadows from BH Cosmetics, I had previously purchased the Malibu pallet while at Generation Beauty in Los Angeles in June. I really wanted to do a review on this palette and show you all the colors!

BH Cosmetics is a great company because they offer really beautiful makeup for a very reasonable price. I bought this Malibu palette for $8.00!! I was drawn to this one specifically because of the bright colors and bronzers it comes with, with summer starting I couldn't say no! The packaging is adorable!!

(Swatches from right side of the palette)

(Swatches from the left side)

(Swatches from middle face products)

As you can tell from the swatches they are not as vibrant as they are in the palette, however when built up on your eye they really do pop! I tend to use the bright colors on my lower lash line to really stand out, and use the more bronze tones for every day eye looks.

I think this palette is great for traveling because it includes bright and neutral colors along with a bronzer, blush, and a highlighter!

I absolutely love this palette for summer!

Check out the BH cosmectics website, they always have deals and tutorials on their website!

Disclaimer: This post is in no way sponsored, I wanted to share my own opinion on this palette!

Ipsy Glam Bag

Hi Everyone!

Today's blog post is going to be about the Ipsy my glam bag subscription monthly service.

I had first heard of Ipsy through YouTube a while ago and would always watch beauty gurus do unboxing vidoes or looks with the products that were featured in the subscription service. I hadn't really wanted to sign up for the program until after attending generation beauty in Los Angeles last month in June. I was really excited after returning home and wanted to try it out, so I signed up for the July bag.

Basically what you do when you want a bag is log onto ipsy.com and take their little quiz about yourself so they can see what products best fit you. Then you may or may not be waitlisted for a bag, I guess depending on how many people are signed up that month. Last you set up your account billing and wait until the following month to receive your Ipsy Glam Bag. The service is 10$/month and you get about 5 products monthly.

I just received my first bag in the mail yesterday and wanted to do a first impressions blog post for everyone who is thinking about signing up for the service.

I wanted to start off by saying that the packaging that the bags come in monthly is adorable and made me really excited to get something that cute in the mail.

In my July bag I received:

Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon

Small travel size of Benetint

Sexy Hair Weather Proof humidity resistant spray

BH Cosmetics California collection sample eyeshadow

Coola mineral face SPF 20 tinted moisturizer

Since receiving these products I do like the service, however the products this month were mostly things that I had tried or have in my collection. I am very excited to try these products and let everyone know how they worked out for me.

With being an Ipsy member you also get discount codes for the brands that are featured that month which is really nice.

I honestly do recommend Ipsy to anyone who loves trying out new makeup products, I feel that it is a good price for everything you get.

Join me on Ipsy!

Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream!

I received Olay's Fresh Effects BB Cream in my Sun Vox Box from Influenster.com a few weeks ago and have been trying it out for about two weeks now. After using this product for two weeks I feel that I can write a review on how I really feel about this product and give out my honest opinion. From the Olay website www.olayfresheffects.com I have found the six skincare benefits that this products says it offers.

• Refreshes skin instantly
• Brightens for a radiant glow
• Evens tone with a splash of sheer color
• Hydrates for 24 hours
• Smoothes for softer feeling skin
• Protects against UV damage with SPF 15

I am the type of person who loves BB creams, I have tried about three or so and personally love them. I really enjoy light hydrating coverage. I must say that the Olay Fresh Effects is one of my top favorites. The product is not meant to give you full coverage but it does give some light coverage and offers many other great benefits that I feel that most foundation does not offer.

Olay Fresh Effects BB cream is not heavy on your face or make your skin feel dried out and caked on. You really feel as if you only put on a moisturizer or sunscreen. I also really enjoy the light fresh smell.

This product is very inexpensive and can be found in drugstores as well as on
www.olayfresheffects.com and http://www.amazon.com

I use this product every morning with my real tequniches face brush, and use concealer and bronzer on top.

** I received Fresh Effects complimentary from Influenster ** All opinions are my own and this is not a sponsored post. @influenster
